Before you join the queue

Choose Arena when you have time to finish a match without leaving for another task. If you are waiting for an interruption or want to leave after one question, start with Freeplay from Home instead.

You do not need Premium for ranked play. Choose subject preferences before queueing, and expect your first five rated matches to be placements.

A shared question changes the feeling

In a turn-based quiz, you can think about your answer while someone else waits. Tidbit Arena puts both sides on the same question at the same time. The clock and the other score make each decision feel different from a relaxed solo round.

Correct answers score; faster correct answers score more. A streak adds another reason to stay accurate. Rushing into a wrong answer is not a shortcut, so the interesting choice is how much confidence you need before you commit.

What happens when you enter Arena?

Arena is Tidbit’s ranked 1v1 trivia game. You choose subject preferences before entering the queue. A match uses subject choices from both sides, so do not expect every question to be from your own favorites.

New competitors complete five rated placement matches before receiving a rank. Existing placed competitors keep their placement. The ladder and seasonal rewards give you reasons to return, but no particular win guarantees a fixed promotion.

Treat the queue as a request to play, not a guaranteed wait of a particular length. If you only have an uncertain gap, save a ranked match for later.

A useful approach to your first matches

  1. Play a few relaxed questions first if you are new to Tidbit. Learn where the answer controls sit before adding a match clock.
  2. Choose subjects you actually enjoy. Your selections help shape the match, but the other side contributes choices too.
  3. Read the whole question. Build confidence in the answer before chasing speed.
  4. Look at accuracy as well as the result. One close match does not tell you everything about how you played.

Free ranked play and the account boundary

Ranked Arena does not require Premium, and no sign-up is needed to start. You can play ranked up to Bronze; from Silver up, you are asked to create an account or sign in. Training is a separate Premium feature.

For a different kind of session, compare Tidbit’s game modes. If your goal is a shared evening rather than a ranked match, this online trivia night guide covers hosting and invites.
