An independent trivia game
Tidbit Trivia is an indie trivia game, made independently by the Tidbit Trivia team. It runs in a web browser on computers, tablets and phones, and inside Discord.
Being independent shapes the game in a few plain ways. There are no ads. The free part of the game is free, with no sign-up needed to play it. And there are simple ways to tell the team what to fix.
Here is what is in it, how it is paid for and how to reach us.
What is in it
- Traditional trivia, with over 12,000 questions and 30 subjects to pick from, from Animals and Space to Mythology & Religion.
- Freeplay, where you choose the subjects and the difficulty and play at your own pace, picture questions included.
- Higher or Lower: two cards, one question, which number is higher? Real numbers, from prices and times to sizes and speeds.
- 30+ game modes, from timed rounds and lives to flags, outlines and famous faces.
- Parties with friends, in the browser or inside Discord.
- Competitive 1v1 in Arena, with five placement matches, ranks from Novice to Oracle and two-month seasons.
- The Daily Question: one question a day, the same for everyone.
- Achievements, cosmetics, statistics and levels.
It runs in your browser, with no download and no sign-up needed. Freeplay, Higher or Lower Freeplay and Arena are free.

Levels, achievements and cosmetics
Playing earns XP, and level-ups pay Quills. Achievements pay Quills too, when you claim them. Quills buy cosmetics in the Shop, and a few cosmetics come with Premium instead.
Premium gives no extra XP, so a level means the same thing for every player. Statistics are free for every player too.
Arena seasons add rewards of their own: the ranks you reach give Quills and titles, and reaching a rank for the first time gives a border and a profile card.
How it is paid for
Tidbit has no ads, in the free version too. It is paid for by Premium, an optional subscription that costs $5 a month or $48 a year. Premium unlocks every mode and lets you play trivia offline.
Premium also brings new features and modes on day one, and a share of every payment goes to removing carbon.
There is one free trial per person: 3 days with no card, which simply ends, or 7 days with a card, with nothing charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime with one button.
There is more on how that works, and what to look for in any ad-free game, in trivia games with no ads.
Why no ads
Ads would pay for the game by selling a little of every player’s attention, a few seconds at a time. We would rather ask the players who want more of the game to pay for it, and leave everyone else to play without interruptions.
That is also why Premium adds more game rather than removing annoyances: every mode, offline Freeplay, and new features and modes on day one.
It keeps the free game honest as well. Premium only works if people enjoy the free part enough to want more.
How it changes
- Patch Notes, in the Social menu on computers and in Settings on phones, say what has changed.
- Arena runs in seasons that last two months.
- A new Daily Question arrives every day at 09:00 UTC.
- New features and modes arrive in updates, and Premium players get them on day one.
- Each Arena season brings its rewards back to earn, from your first match of the season.
Back after a while away? Patch Notes are the quickest way to see what is new since you last played. You can also read them at tidbittrivia.com/updates.
Tell us what to fix
- On a computer, the Help menu has Submit a Bug, Submit Feedback, Tutorial and Contact Support.
- On a phone, Submit a Bug, Submit Feedback and Contact Support are in Settings.
- A question that looks wrong can be reported from the question view.
- You can also email support@tidbittrivia.com.
A report about a question is most useful when it says what looks wrong and why. A bug report is most useful when it says what you pressed and what happened next.
Feedback is not only for problems. If there is a subject you want more of, or a mode you wish existed, Submit Feedback is the place for it.
Where to play
- In any web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone.
- In a small window on a computer: press Minimize and Tidbit moves into a small window in the corner of your screen, so you can play while you work on something else. Minimize works in computer browsers, not in private browsing.
- Inside Discord: start Tidbit Trivia from the App Launcher in a channel and play a party of up to 10.
- Offline, with Premium: connect once, then keep playing Freeplay with no internet connection.
- With friends anywhere: create a party, share its invite code or link, and play from your own browsers.
Wherever you play, it is the same account once it is linked, so your progress goes with you. There is more about playing in Discord on the Discord page, and about parties on the Party page.
Tidbit in Discord
Tidbit Trivia also runs inside Discord. Start it from a voice or text channel and up to 10 people in the channel can play together. It makes your account from your Discord name, so there’s nothing to sign up for.
10-player trivia games are free to play there. Your Discord account is a real Tidbit account: sign in with Discord on tidbittrivia.com and the same account opens there.
Five minutes with Tidbit
- Open Tidbit Home and play a few questions of Freeplay.
- Try a few calls of Higher or Lower.
- Answer the Daily Question, the same question for everyone today.
- Play an Arena placement match from the Arena page.
- Create a party and send the link to a friend.
That is most of the game in five minutes, all of it free, with nothing to download.
Who it is for
Tidbit is for anyone 13 and above who likes knowing things, or finding out they did not. It suits short sessions as well as long ones: a few questions on a break, ranked matches in the evening or a party on game night.
Have a favorite subject? Every subject has its own page, such as space trivia, music trivia and history trivia, where Freeplay opens on those questions straight away.
Comparing trivia games? Here are eight things to check before you play.
